First week of practice - February 29 to March 4, 2016

Finished the visits begin the practice.
A week full of new experiences and new challenges!

Tuesday, March 1, 2016 -
Today was the first time I attended the activities of older children.
At Tuesdays all classes come together with the older children and they prepare different activities.
Today we went to the woods and they needed to find some rabbits! After that they counted the rabbits they had found and the mother rabbit gave some carrots to eat.
They played a little bit and after we returned to the school to have lunch.

In this day i had made my first activitie. They are working with recycling and plastics so i thought of doing a tresure hunt! The tresure was a polyester bag with some plastic things from the daily life, like,  plastic bottles, plastic boxes, covers, straws, plastic bags, balloons, packets of biscuits, among other things.
I had made a map of the room and the mark with the next clue.
They love tresure hunts and it was really nice to see the improvement they were making reading the maps!
In the end they didn't need more help to find the tresure!
The purpose was the children find the treasure , discover what was inside it and be able to think what they wanted to do with the materials.
The goals were to "develop their curiosity and enjoyment as their ability to play and learn, their ability to function in group, take responsability for common rules, acquire and be able to differentiate shades of meaning in concepts, see interconnections and discover new ways of understanding the surrounding world, their ability to listen, reflect and express their own views and try to understand the perspectives of others, an interest in the written language and an understanding of symbols, and their communicative functions, their understanding of space, shades, location and direction, their interest and understanding of the different cycles in nature, and how people, nature and society influence each other and their ability to build, create and construct using different techniques, materials and tools." (Curriculum for the preschool Lpfö 98, 2010).

The maps and the tresure

What they made

In the end of the day one of the kids was making tresure maps and thats really good to see, it means that they caught the idea and they liked it and that is very important to me.

Every thursday my class, in the morning break, goes to the forest!
Every day is a different day, they listen to the birds, they play and climb the trees, they slide in the snow ( if it's snow) and they are really free!
It's always really nice to go there!!

This friday i made a traditional portuguese game with the older kids.
They needed to work cooperation and in this game you need to walk with one of your feet tied to one of your friends feet.
So i made a route and they needed to work with each other.
They really enjoyed and it was so funny to watch!
