Last day of practice...

Today we had the last day of practice...

I'm sad to leave them and Sweden but at the same time i'm really happy to return to Portugal.

As it was the last day we thought of giving a party for the children.
We made a kind of concert but with presenters.

Me and Mariana Gomes were the presenters and Mariana Silva was the violinist.

The presenters

The presenters and the violinist

She was "Carlota Bolota! The most greatest, best, and very famous, violinist from Portugal!"

She played "Bamse", "Pipi" and "Apita o Comboio" ( a Portuguese one).
With this last one we made a dance with them because this music is about a train, we made some lines and we were like the train!

"Apita o Comboio"

They were really excited and in the end Mariana thought of a new song for them to calm down and then we could give them the fruit. She played "somewhere over the rainbow" and we made fruit salad to be a bit different for the children...

After that my class went to the woods, i played a lot with them, in the afternoon we searched for birds (a game that i had prepared for them) and in the end of the day they gave me a present!

A book of "Pipi" with a beautiful message they wrote for me so i never forget them (i never will!!), some draws they made for me and a bracelet!

It was the best way it could end!
Thank you all for the amazing time we spent together!

But it was not just for the kids... We needed to thank all the preschool for having us there so we made some tradition sweets from Portugual for them to try!

"Salame de Chocolate":

  • 100g of butter;
  • 100g of sugar;
  • 1 egg;
  • 200g of 'Maria' cookies;
  • 100g of chocolate powder.
Chop the cookies so that they are in small pieces.
Knead the butter with the sugar, mix the egg and beat well.
Blend the chocolate and mix well.
In the end mix the cookies and blend really well.
Wrap the mixture in silver with the form of "salame" and put it in the fridge for some hours.

"Baba de Camelo"
  • 1 can of condensed milk;
  • 6 eggs.
Boil the condensed milk for 40 min. ( the can needs to be closed and the water should not cover the top.
Separate the whites from the gems.
When the milk is boiled mix with the gems.
Beat the egg whites.
Mix everything really well and put it in the fridge for some hours.

We hope the sweets were good!

Thank you Melltorp Förskola!

Turkish dinner!

Today we had the Turkish dinner!!

It was upstairs so it was really nice for us that just needed to climb a floor..

The dinner was really great and they had prepared plenty of things for us to taste!
They were really nice cooking all those things for the international students.

We had dinner and before the dessert we played a game to see which will be the next dinner!
The competition were between the "Germans and the Austrians" and "Brazilians and Spanish"! We didn't enter in the competition because we are leaving on Monday, May 2, and we don't have time to participate :(
But we helped the Spanish and Brazilians in the game. Our we tried...
The game were a quiz about Turkey and a didn't knew a thing :p but it was fun and "our" team won and the Germans are in charge of the next international dinner!

We are a bit sad because we will not be there but i'm sure that will be a great dinner too!

After the game we had the dessert! I really liked a special one that is called "Kunefe". It was so good!!!

The night passed really quickly and we had a great time!
Maybe we will met on friday and in the weekend so we can say goodbye...

Dear Natalie see you soon!

Today is Natalie's birthday!

We are really happy for her and yesterday we made a picnic at lunch time in our house and we spent the midnight with her and we made some cookies!

The picnic

Vegetarian meal... (Because of the Marianas)

The cookies

But she is from Poland and she needs to go there. She doesn't know when she returnes and if we will be here...
So we needed to say goodbye a bit earlier than we expected...
We are a bit sad but we know that we will meet again soon, or in Portugal, or in Poland, or somewhere else!

Practice with the portuguese teachers

Yesterday we arrived from London and today we had a really special day of practice!

Our teachers from Portugal came to visit us and to be with our Swedish teachers and today they were with us in our place of practice!

We showed the preschool, our classes, our preschool teachers, what we had done in there and of course our little kids!!

A special present...

In the afternoon we  went to the woods with our Portuguese teachers, near our house!
We met "Napoleão", the cat ( Mariana Silva named him that way) and we walked through the woods near a river!
In the end when we were returning we saw a deer! Such a beautiful animal!
I was so happy because i just had seen once when we were returning from Copenhagen and we were in the train...

The Portuguese teachers!

Us and Napoleão...

Another wonderful day that ended with a dinner in a really good pizza place with our dear teachers!

London here we go!!!

One more great adventure!
And what an adventure...!

It all started when we realised that we bought the bus tickets, from Standsted Airport to the center of London, for the wrong hour.

Lucky us that they let us pass without having to buy a new one.
A long trip to the center and another one walking through the Hyde Park to get to the hostel.

This is the second time that i'm in London and it seems that will be a whole new adventure!

Our hostel... It seemed a good hostel when we booked but when we arrived there we didn't want to believe... The entrance was for a basement, all with a horrible and dirty air and the bunks had no stairs. We left our things there and we went away really fast.

On this day we went to the house of Freddy Mercury (or door because you can not enter...), we passed trought the Museum of Natural History, the Harrods, the Hamleys, the M&M's store, Piccadilly Circus, we had dinner at Pizza Hut and after we went to see the Trafalgar Square and the Big Ben!

Harrods

Hamleys

M&M's World

Big Ben at night...

It was a really great day!

We return to the hostel by walk and when we arrived we couldn't walk more!!

The second day was amazing!!!

All of them were but this one were really special for me!
Me and Mariana Gomes went to the "Warner Bros Studio Tour - The Making Of Harry Potter"!

I'm a big fan of Harry Potter! It can be said that is a thing of my childhood ( it is not that i am too old but 15 years is more than half of my life... :p).

It was like being in the movie!!
And i learned a lot on this visit.

Goodbye!!!

The third day!
We spend the day the three together again!

We went to the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge!

We visited the S. Pauls Cathedral and we saw a parade for the liberty of the British Soldiers.

And after that we had lunch, we went to Hardys shop, the London Eye, the Big Ben, to the Buckingham Palace and the S. James Park to lie down a bit on the grass!
The day was really sunny! So good!!

We walked a lot in that day but when we arrived to the hostel at night we found some Portuguese people and some Spanish ones that lived there and we spend a lot of time playing cards and talking!
A very nice night!!

Our Portuguese friend from London...
On the last day we just bought some souvenirs and walked through the Hyde Park again to take the bus to the airport...

Until one day London!
