We went to the woods to pick some sticks to make sky stikes for Wednesday for the race.
The race will be around the school and it will be like real skying. Each child will get a medal and a diploma at the end of the race, and will drink blueberry soup. Something completely new to me, it will be very interesting.

Today was the king Gustav Vasa race - " Barnens Vasalopp " .
There was a short presentation about the race and the history of this and then all the classes participated.
First the smaller and then the older ones.
At the end of the race every child received a medal each and drank blueberry soup.
Later they received a certificate of participation.
It was a busy day and with great fun. The kids loved it and it's very good for them to do different things than the usual.

Today my class was in the woods having lunch.
We took in the grids , the food, the rest of blueberry soup and the children and set off on adventure to the woods .
I told a traditional story , more of northern Portugal , " Caldo da Pedra". I took with me a pot and the ingredients of the history, it was a very meaningful experience.
I told the story in Portuguese while the teacher told in Swedish, something difficult because I did not knew what the teacher was saying nor the teacher what I was saying and it helped a lot to have the ingredients to be coordinated.
The funny thing in the end was that one of the ingredients was "chouriço" and the kids just wanted to eat the "chouriço"! So i splited for the ones that wanted and they were really happy!

We played in the snow, climbed the trees and made a fire to do lunch.
We grilled sausages and we made hot dogs.
In Portugal it's more difficult to go with the children making fires , because you can not do anywhere. It was a day full of new experiences with the children for me.
